Ten Tips To Make Life Easier

Ok taking a break from freebie posting because I have the chance to work with Twittermons again! I just love working with them! Anyway they want 10 tips that can make your life easier. So I am going to tell you mine and you can leave a comment on yours if you want to, infact, I encourage you to do so!

Ok here we go:
Everything happens for a reason! If something doesn't work out the way you want or expect, you can believe it's for a reason and you'll find that reason later in time. I'm a firm beliver in this. It's happened way too many times to my family for good and bad, so don't waste time wondering why!

Learn how to say no! I know way too many people who don't say that word (my daughter for one) and it does nothing but cause stress! If you are a mom and don't want your child to have something, just say NO! Job wants you to work late and you have plans, say NO!

Make a list and stick to it! You can make a grocery list, gift list, card list, etc. I make a list for Holiday shopping (who gets what), and grocery shopping. I always stick to it and if I have to substitute, I try to find something in that same price range.

Set A Budget! It's so much easier when you set a budget. I have a budget for my groceries and I have a budget for Christmas shopping. In fact, I started my shopping tonight and paid $1.95 for a $20 gift! Why, I got a $20 credit at an online shop, for signing up, and found a nice gift, used the credit and the balance was $1.95!  I find that having a budget makes my life so much easier.

Search for the best deals! There are deal blogs all over the net, including mine! lol Using coupons will definately help you get the best deals on sale items. The point of coupons is to get the rock bottom price on an item, I can't tell you how many things I've gotten for free or close to it (Like I mentioned above, $20 Christmas gift and paid $1.95! ). Requesting freebies, this helps you not have to buy an item. I have about 10 laundry detergent samples so if I run out of my detergent and have to do laundry, I can!

Find good friends! You need someone besides family to lean on and who are great listeners (I have a few that if it weren't for them, I would have yanked my hair out last week!), and don't forget you have to be a good friend to them and when they need someone to listen, do that for them.

Get done early! If you have a favorite show coming on, get dinner done and over with. Wash the dishes or set the dish washer and go sit on the sofa and relax and enjoy your evening with your family!

Learn to Ask For Help! If you need help with something, no one will know it if you don't say you need help! People are not mind readers. lol. I learned this when I was trying my hardest to get something from my cabinet and couldn't, my husband walked right passed me and I had to yell "HELP!". He came back and smartly said, "all you had to do was ask!"

Have fun! It's real easy to get caught up in work or whatever. So you need to remember to take time off on the weekend or your day off and have fun! Pack up the kids and pets, go to the park and enjoy the fun and make memories!

Get caught up on things so you can relax on the weekends. My favorite tip! I love free time on the weekends, so making sure laundry, cleaning, etc are done during the week, gives me the free time on the weekend with my husband!

Buy something for yourself! My daughter makes it a point and so did I when I was working, to buy at least 1 thing for yourself every payday. Doesn't matter if it's a box of chocolates from $ Tree, this is something that I believe in, it's like treating yourself for work well done!

So what do you think about my ten tips on making my life easier? Let me know and please leave a comment with your tip. It's called helping each other.

10 Ways To Making My Favorite Foods Healthier

My husband and I have had to do some changes to our diets, and I found out that Healthy living doesn't have to be expensive.

1. Plant a Garden - I love to eat salads and knowing the tomatoes came from my garden made it all the more delicious!

I always wanted to have my own vegetable garden, so last year, my husband helped dig the spot and plant the veggies. We were so excited to watch our tomatoes, green peppers, and cucumbers grow! We had 2 different kinds of tomatoes and they were DELICIOUS! I don't really eat peppers, but they were used in somethings my hubby cooked. The cucumbers never really got to where they could be eaten, but they were cute when they were trying to grow!

Growing your own garden is cheap and takes nothing besides time and space. It gives you a good feeling to know that they were grown without pesticides or other chemicals.

2. Use Veggies instead of meat - Using veggies or using less meat in a recipe is a great way to make a meal healthier. Veggie Lasagna instead of meat Lasagna.  Veggies instead of sausage or meatballs in spaghetti sauce.

3. Buy Organic Milk - Organic milk tastes better than original milk. I purchase a half gallon of Fat Free Horizon Organic Omega 3 with DHA, it's so much healthier than Borden or any other milk!  I love cereal in the mornings, and now I know that along with my healthy cereal, I've taken an extra step in being healthy with the milk.

4. Use Whole Wheat Pasta - there's not a big difference in taste between whole wheat pasta and regular pasta. I myself prefer Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta. It's a healthier option for white pasta.  We eat Spaghetti at least twice a week, Ronzoni tastes great with spaghetti sauce or mixed with broccolli and other veggies and a little olive oil for a liter dish.

5. Use Brown Rice - Brown rice is a little different from white rice, but I've recently started to use it. This week, we had it with Red Beans and Green Beans, Potatoes and Sausage and it was DELICIOUS!  Not a big difference, it's just that brown rice seems to be lighter. It's much healthier and will help with weight loss!

6. Drink Water - Drinking water is MUCH healthier than any other beverage and is totally frugal.

7. Cut back on the salt - We don't purchase regular salt any more. We get "Lite Salt" from McCormick.  Cost is about $2, but it's much healthier for you especially if you have to watch your salt intake.

8. Use Dark Chocolate instead of Milk Chocolate - Dark Chocolate is high in antioxidants and health fats! It's healthier for people with heart conditions and High Blood Pressure, so next time you want chocolate, grab DARK chocolate instead of milk chocolate

9. Make homemade Pizzas - Purchase flour tortillas, cheese, make your own pizza sauce, and top with grilled veggies, chicken or turkey ground meat for a healthy pizza.

10. Substitute Beans for Meat -  My husband likes beef and bean burritos, but to be frugal, I use bean and cheese. He does get his beef and bean when I can afford the beef. I add black olives too sometimes. Beans contain a lot of fiber, are low in fat, and are much less expensive than meats.

These are just a few tips to help make your favorite meals healthier. My personal favorite is the homemade pizzas!!   Here's one more tip, grilled chicken or fish is much healthier than fried it helps cut the fats which is good for weight loss!

What are some ways you make meal time healthier?

Fracture My Photos!

I just read about a cool new way to print your photos-Fracture!

Fracture is a new contemporary, affordable, and practical way to show off all your favorite family pictures! Fracture is the fastest, easiest, best way to get your pictures from your camera to your wall. In other words, the picture prints out as a frame (on glass) and ready to hang! All you have to do is upload your photo and they do the rest.  Pretty Cool huh?!

I am trying to be one of the first to review Fracture and if I am among the first 100 participants, I will be writing a follow-up post about Fracture after testing it out.

My daughter and husband love to take photos, I use to when my dog was alive and my daughter was little. I'll have the opportunity to be photographer at her wedding this December and this would be perfect for those photos!

Check it out at http://www.fracture.com/ for yourself.

How Are You Better Than Ever?

I was asked by Twittermoms and Dove® gofresh™  to share what is better than ever in my life. My answers are from this passed year.

1. I am married to a wonderful man! I have been with an incredible man for all my life, he never wanted to get married, but in April of 2009, he said he wanted us to get married. On May 22, 2009, we stood before the justice of the peace! Most people say they want all the bang for their wedding, but none of that mattered to us, the only thing that mattered was the 2 of us standing there telling each other how much we loved one another.

2. I have the most wonderful daughter any mom could ask for and I love being a mom. My daughter and I are best friends! I'm so glad I had her. When I found out I was pregnant, I wasn't so sure I wanted to be a mom, but I found that it's the most fulfilling job I'll ever have!

3. I just figured out that I love my life! I always wanted something more, but in reality, I love my life.

4. I have the best sister in the world! She's worried about me and wants to go to the dr with me tomorrow. She has some questions for the dr and she knows I won't ask them. lol I have a cyst and fibroid and I'm worried that it got bigger, she's been though all this already and knows all the questions.

5. God is great. He answers my prayers everytime I really need them answered quickly. It seems when I am worried or upset, I always get a fast answer.

6. I have a wonderful family who love me for who I am and would do anything to help. I just wish my mother and my brother's family lived closer.

So, what makes your life better than ever? Tell us in the comment section!

TwitterMoms and Gap Outlet wanted to hear about my "5 Must-have Fashionable Pieces to Pack for Every Weekend Trip." You can get more info that request here

Well, my husband and I rarely pack to go anywhere, but when we have to pack to leave for a hurricane, these are the 5 must haves for us:

*My hubby has to have either his shorts or budwieser pants to sleep in and I have to have a loose t-shirt and shorts to sleep in.

*Muscle shirts for my husband, tank tops for me

*Jeans, we must pack at least 1 pair of jeans just incase we go to a movie or something.

*At least 2 nice shirts for both of us.

*Because this is during the HOTTEST months, I can't go anywhere without my hair clips and pony tail holders.

5 Things On My "Honey Do" List That Never Gets Done

Twittermoms and Servicelive.com asked what are the 5 things on my honey-do list that never get done.

My Honey-do List is not too hard to do actually.
*Carpets need to be cleaned.
*We use our second room for storage, but everything in it needs to be put in containers and put in the attic so when my mom visits in a few months, she can have the second room to sleep in.
*Kitchen cabinets need to be painted and the Bathroom needs painting
*He's promised to build me storage shelves, and I'm still waiting.
*We need landscaping, but he's so tired I hate to ask him to dig so I can plant a few plants.

With my husband working harder at his job these days (machines breaking down, people not showing up), it's harder for him to have the energy to do things around the house. He does mow the lawn when he needs to, but it is hard for him. We live in a HOT area and he has asthma and high blood pressure, so it's very hard on him.

What's on your "honey-do" list?
